Build coordination, self regulation, learn Hebrew and have fun with this tune, a ‘spin’ on the many very popular “freeze dance” type of songs. This is another version of a “zipper” tune- you can ask the group to do literally anything and then “STOP! Atsor!”
Activities:
This is a zipper song and you can incorporate any movement or activity you see fit. “Walk down the hall, use walking feet, please stay in your line. Walk down the hall, use walking feet, use walking feet ATSOR”
Or
“Now its time to clean the room, pick up and put away, the blocks and books and crayons to, clean up and then ATSOR”
The options are endless...add rhythm, Hebrew and a playful element to any part of your day to encourage cooperation and fun.
Teaching Tip from songwriter:
If a large group is particularly hard to manage, I’ll sing a verse or two of this, just to capture attention. This can also be a “brain break” song for older kids, a brief foray into a totally different activity when children are getting restless with whatever task they might have at hand.
Lyrics:
So many ways to move and groove
So listen with your ears
For the Hebrew word for STOP
Freeze your moves when you hear…..: ATSOR! (multiple voices “shout”)
Jump and Jump and Jump and Jump, Jump and Jump and Jump, Jump and Jump and Jump and Jump, Jump and Jump ATSOR!
Stomp..
Clap…
Stretch…
Spin...
