HOLIDAYS
Yom HaShoah and Yom HaZikaron are often referred to as two of the three secular High Holy Days of Israel. It is by remembering the mass extermination of the Jewish people by the Nazi regime (Yom HaShoah) and by remembering those fallen soldiers of Israel and victims of terrorism (Yom HaZikaron) that enables us to celebrate independence, freedom, and Jewish perseverance on Yom HaAtzamut, Israel’s Independence Day. For it is because of those whom were lost that ultimately resulted in the establishment of Israel as a state in 1948. Their sacrifice is honored, as they are the reason Israel is able to exist today.
