Make Music! This song is designed to encourage creative self expression through rhythm play. Several variations on this activity include:

Teach children that a musical instrument is simply any thing that is used to make musical sound. Go on a field trip in your environment to look for items that can be used to make musical sounds (sticks, pots and pans, shoes, toys….)

Share a variety of instruments with the students and let them play throughout the song

Create musical instruments in the classroom using beans, rice, rubber bands, or anything that else that you might have in the classroom. A wide variety of instruments are easily made with everyday objects, use the internet to research the best option for the materials you have available.

Throughout the day, encourage the use of planned or spontaneous music as a way to pray and play.

Tell stories of using music to praise, share the story of Miriam and her song from Exodus 15:21 and show children clips of videos of different music makers that praise G*D.
